In this workshop we will cover basic computer programming concepts using MIT’s Scratch application, an easy to learn and use programming environment. Make simple games, animations and musical instruments on the computer. We will also introduce the MakeyMakey, a USB device to create custom physical interfaces from everyday objects. We will think beyond the keyboard and mouse, for example, imagine you have a banana that controls the position of a digital puppet on screen.
Teens are welcome to attend both events to continue building their projects. There will be a Show-N-Tell at the end of each session to show off projects.
Registration & materials fee
$80 for one teen for single session or $100 for both sessions.
$20 for a sibling or friend to join in at a session.
Includes 1 MakeyMakey and other supplies to keep making things at home.
