With the right tools Everyone is a Maker
DIYAbility is hosting Summer workshops for teens with physical disabilities and their siblings to tinker with creative technology and Make their World. Using appropriate assistive technology anyone can access a computer and with that computer they can program control of their home, design a website, make a 3D model that can be physically printed out.
Making the Future workshops in June, July and August will cover computer programming, simple electronics and digital fabrication tools. The workshops are designed for teens with physical disabilities and their siblings who are curious about making things and using new technology. Using readily available materials and kits the Makers will tinker, test and take home their projects.
Making the Future
We know technology can be the best equalizer, so what will the world look like when teens with disabilities are making, programming and controlling technology? We're excited to find out this Summer at Making the Future!
